New Renson Fixscreen Minimal: Minimal impact, maximum possibilities

As a pioneer in the field of up to 130 km/h of windproof sun protection fabric, Renson is raising the bar once again with the launch of the Fixscreen Minimal. This time, more than ever, the focus lies on the minimal impact on the design of a building, whether it be on curtain walls, new buildings or renovation projects.

A clear vision of the future of the product range, combined with a thorough development process, results in a new Fixscreen that has been fine-tuned regarding design, technology and ease of installation for new buildings, curtain walls and new buildings. Every component, every detail, has been examined: box, side channels, fabric roller barrel, dimensions, fabric tension, etc.  A minimal impact on the architecture requires minimal dimensions. The Fixscreen Minimal responds to this, with side channels in a uniform colour scheme, without visible screws, and all this with a minimum vision width of 20 mm. Unique on the market. The absolute minimum. This can only be achieved by perfect integration of newly developed technologies such as the new Connect & Go.

New sun protection fabric for renovation projects, new buildings and curtain walls

  • The Fixscreen Minimal can be subtly integrated into any new building project problem-free. Perfectly in line with the ‘Minimal Windows’ trend, they are hardly noticeable in front of the window. The solution with a stand-alone coupling side guiding channel is unique. Behind this, the moving part of the sash-window or a sliding mosquito window can move freely. Moreover, for large windows, this solution is perfectly joinable.
  • The new, minimal width of the side channels is also a gratifying aspect for curtain walls. Here too, the Fixscreen Minimal sun protection fabric can be subtly combined with the curtain wall. This takes into account the various technical aspects such as the multi-part possibility to couple, central installation of the 50 mm wide coupling profiles on the curtain walls and the thermal expansion (Fixscreen Minimal was designed in such a way that it can perfectly compensate for the thermal expansion on large glass surfaces such as these). From now on, with this new technology, a curtain wall can be perfectly equipped with a dynamic sun protection system that – without the building’s architecture having to be noticed and without losing its aesthetics – ensures a comfortable indoor climate.
  • The fact that the side channels of the Fixscreen sun protection fabric become much narrower (standard 20 mm and 40 mm for the standard coupling profile) opens up particularly interesting perspectives for the renovation market, where this type of sun protection cannot be concealed in the building shell in a surface mounted situation. The compact aluminium box and side channels are therefore hardly noticeable in a façade that will be equipped with sun protection fabric at a later stage.

Sun protection fabric as a dynamic mantle for your home:

The sun is a free source of light and heat, so you can better make the most of the sunlight in your home. During the colder months for example, you will benefit from large, sun-oriented windows that bring in the warmth of the sun as much as possible. Because this free heat reduces your heating costs. At the same time, you want to keep it just pleasantly cool in the house during the summer and want to keep the sun at bay before it reaching the glass. Dynamic (or movable) outdoor sun protection leaves both options open for energy-efficient living at any time of the year, but above all, for comfortable living in pleasant indoor temperatures, without annoying reflections, while maintaining visibility to outside.

Glass fibre fabric ensures a uniform look for all sun protection fabric
From mid-2018 onwards, Renson’s lateral sliding sun protection fabric Slidefix is also available with fibreglass fabric. This particularly offers an enormous advantage to the eye, because now that all Renson screens can be used for the same type of (fibreglass) fabric, there is no longer any difference between the fabrics of the Fixscreen, Panovista (Max) and Slidefix in the same project. And it goes even further, because with fibreglass fabrics under a terrace covering, it also blends perfectly with the rest of the screens.

Previously, the Slidefix was only available with polyester fabric because, due to its shape retention, it was the only fabric of its kind that could cope with the tensile load – which inevitably occurs when the sun protection slides sideways. The fact that the Slidefix can now also be equipped with Sergé fibreglass fabric (and even insect mesh) is due to an important update of the tensioning mechanism. This allows it to be able to perfectly absorb the larger ‘elongation’ – inherent to fibreglass fabric. An upgrade in confectioning is also an important contribution to the success of equipping the Slidefix with fibreglass fabric.

New in the Renson range of screens: PVC-free fabrics
Since the beginning of 2018, the fabric range for Fixscreen sun protection fabric has also been expanded with PVC-free polyester and acrylic fabrics. These fabrics are particularly environmentally friendly and recyclable. ‘Vuscreen Bergam’o is a PVC-free polyester fabric. Unlike other polyester fabrics, this fabric has a rather ‘woven’ look. ‘Elements’ is a PVC-free acrylic fabric that scores high in terms of privacy as well as sun protection properties. Unlike blackout fabrics, they are available up to a maximum of 22m². Both from the inside to outside and vice versa, there is no vista, which contributes to a cosy, intimate atmosphere in your home.

Aero Skye: Recessed, sliding blade roof
A comfortable outdoor space, at one with the architecture

The Skye is the most exclusive type in Renson’s range of terrace coverings and it offers comfortable outdoor living at the highest level. In a double recessed-mounted module, the roof structure, with its tiltable and sliding blades, can be up to 11.75 m by 4.5 m, and it integrates perfectly into any structure. The Aero Skye is more than just a terrace cover; it integrates seamlessly into architecture and offers a wide range of possibilities for architects, designers and planners who see a terrace as an additional outdoor space that can serve all year round.

Recessed, sliding blade roof up to 11.75 m, without Intermediate beam
Renson launched the Skye terrace covering with a great deal of fanfare at the 2015 R+T, as a ‘summum’ of comfortable outdoor living. This model now comes with tilting roof blades that can slide open and closed. In addition to freestanding and lean-to constructions, the Skye now offers a new application as an integrated roof element. Imagine it with no columns and you have sleek and firm roof structure that can be mounted on any construction, from steel profiles to concrete beams or a wooden framework.

The Skye’s unique feature is the capability to install an integrated roof structure in a coupled dual-configuration up to 11.75m by 4.5 m, which is twice the maximum for the original detached Skye terrace covering with vertical columns. In this setup, the roof blades open from the centre outwards towards each side. Although previously unknown with bladed roofs, this means that there is no disturbing intermediate beam, and you have a completely uninhibited view of the open sky.
Conversely, the blades on both roof sections close perfectly watertight in the centre during rainy weather. LED lights in the span or pivot beams of this integrated roof make it possible to create an extraordinary atmosphere in the evening.

The Skye’s tilting blades protect you from both sun and rain. When the blades are slid back, it as good as being outdoors, and you have an open sky to enjoy the sun in the daytime and have the pleasure of star gazing at night. A remote control app on a tablet or smart phone opens and closes and rotates the blades. That technology offers the option to programme various scenarios, which allows you access to a perfect setup and experience for each time of day. The sideways water drainage connections, all the Aero Skye’s fixations, cabling and anchors integrate invisibly.

Patented S-Drive Technology
Renson’s patented and unmatched rotation and sliding technology, specifically developed for this terrace cover, ensures reliable and durable blade rotation, opening and closing. A synchronous drive at both ends of the roof blades ensures that the roof opens and closes in one smooth motion, even with an asymmetric load.

Dress up your wall with Renson Linarte

Renson Linarte opens up a new dimension in aesthetic, vertical design wall cladding. For Linarte can be customized in endless ways and it can be combined to produce an eye-catching façade, both indoors and outside.

The Linarte profiles of aluminium are mounted onto a horizontal supporting structure at the rear using invisible clips. This not only excludes the possibility of distortion by thermal expansion, but it especially means that the profiles – each individually clipped on – can also serve as finishing elements for curved walls. With surface treatment in a RAL colour of your choice or with an anodized finish, a Linart façade is durable, colour-fast and easy to maintain. In particular, the options for creating the final appearance are practically limitless, for instance by filling the profiles with LED strips or wooden inserts. In the latter case it is even possible to include a house number or a logo, for example.

Linarte Block profiles and Even profiles can be obtained separately, but they can also be matched perfectly. As the Block blades are now also available in 2 sizes (16 mm and 33 mm), you have even more ways of combining them. Outdoor power sockets and taps can be integrated smoothly into this new façade covering, as can the ultra-flat external video unit of the Niko Home Control videotelephonic system made of black anodized aluminium. So you always know who is calling without having to compromise on design.
