(Munich, April 2017) Reliability, simple and intuitive operation, economic efficiency and safety already play an important role at the very beginning of product developments in the Wacker Neuson Group. With its broad portfolio, which is sold under the brands of Kramer and Wacker Neuson, the group is a popular supplier for rental companies and their customers. The company is exhibiting at the International Rental Exhibition 2017 in Amsterdam at stand 5.420.
For years, large rental chains around the world have been customers of Wacker Neuson and Kramer, and more customers are added every year. In order to meet the special requirements of rental parks, the customers are already included in the early development phase. Ville Viita, Key Account Manager for Europe at Wacker Neuson, explains that the success at rental parks is no coincidence: „The increased focus on the special needs that rental yards have for products and services surely contributed to this positive trend. We have aligned ourselves with this focus in recent years and have already taken customers’ wishes into consideration in the design and development or reworking of classic rental equipment.” Rental companies place great value on low overall operating costs. The Wacker Neuson Group is well positioned here, thanks to the fewer service intervals and low service costs. This is ensured by simple service access to engines and the key maintenance points.
The rental company Ramirent offers Wacker Neuson products in several European markets. The comprehensive service offer was certainly decisive for the intensification of the partnership: „It’s not only Wacker Neuson’s attractive product range that impresses us, it’s the service package overall,” says Dino Leistenschneider, Executive Vice President of Fleet and Sourcing at Ramirent. „We receive professional on-site support everywhere because of how Wacker Neuson is set up Europe-wide.”
Concrete and soil compaction: series specifically for rental yards
Within the range of internal vibrators, Wacker Neuson offers three product lines that in particular allow international rental yards to offer a portfolio that is tailored to the regional requirements. Available to choose from are the Premium line IREN/IRFU for the highest standards in long-lasting service life and operating comfort, including a version where a converter can be flexibly combined with different vibrator heads (IRFUflex); the Advanced line IE/IEC is an economic alternative to the IRFU series, with the most common sizes for average requirements; the Basic line, the modular HMS series, is offered for markets where flexible shaft systems are preferred. An integrated personal protection switch, the „bodyguard”, switches off the internal vibrators within milliseconds in cases of need, thus providing more safety. The convenient frequency converter FUH20 is the ideal companion product to IREN and IE.
Within the range of soil compaction, rental yards appreciate either the center pole or the remote-controlled heavy plates from Wacker Neuson DPU80, DPU90 and DPU110 with their robust and maintenance-friendly machine concepts. Damage to the machine by inexperienced operators is effectively avoided thanks to the easy operability, the automatic engine warm-up phase and the overload protection. The operating display can be shown in twelve languages. In addition, the rental yards can read the operating hours and the error memory and can use this data to optimize their maintenance schedules. The roller product range from Wacker Neuson, which includes vibratory trench rollers, tandem rollers and single drum soil compactors, is also frequently in use in rental yards.
The zero emission series of the Wacker Neuson Group is new, innovative and particularly popular among rental yards. The series consists of two battery-powered rammers, a mini-excavator with an electro-hydraulic drive unit, an electric track dumper and two electrically operated wheel loaders from Wacker Neuson and Kramer. Rental yards can thus offer their customers a tailored-to-suit solution if, for example, work needs to be done in urban areas or enclosed spaces as these products work without exhaust emissions and are also extremely low-noise. They are easy to operate and the performance parameters correspond to those of conventional machines in the same class. The Wacker Neuson WL20e wheel loader and the AS50e battery-powered rammer will be on display at IRE 2017.
Compact machines: Intuitive and safe
The larger machines from Wacker Neuson that are frequently found in rental parks also have features that simplify the work of the rental yard operators and their customers. The operator’s controls in the compact excavators, wheel loaders and telehandlers as well as dumpers have been very clearly arranged. Elements such as the intuitive „jog dial” button, which is known from the automotive industry, help to find your way quickly. The dumpers allow for a quick transport of material on the job site, even in rough ground conditions. The load-sensing hydraulic system of the excavator makes it possible for an occasional operator to execute finely controlled boom movements under full load. A solution for applications in difficult ground conditions are the excavators with the Vertical Digging System (VDS): with this system, the revolving superstructure can be tilted and thus also be horizontally aligned on sloping surfaces, which saves time and money and provides for a higher level of operating comfort.
The wheel loaders and telehandlers from Wacker Neuson and Kramer are equipped with hydraulic quick coupler systems, which make it possible to replace attachments in seconds from the operator’s seat. A large selection of attachment tools also makes the machines flexible in use, and therefore particularly economical. The wheel loaders from Kramer have also been time-tested and proven in rental yards based on their intuitive operation and high flexibility in applications. The robust wheel loaders, telescopic wheel loaders and telehandlers meet the practical requirements of rental companies: they are easy to transport, have compact dimensions and score highly in every application due to their wide range of applications.
